Search and find text

To search for a word or phrase in a PDF file, use the Find field in the top-right corner of the Nitro Pro window by using the shortcut Ctrl+F.

To find text in a document:

  1. Press Ctrl+F to open the find bar and enter the search keyword or phrase you want to find.

    Press the Enter key to find the text. All found instances will be highlighted in yellow on the document’s pages

    Click the Gear icon to use search filters:

  3. Whole words only: ignore any search results that aren’t whole words
  4. Case sensitive: ignore any results that do not match the case of the search query
  5. Includes comments: when searching for keywords, text within the annotation layer is included in the search
  6. Advanced Search: open the Advanced Search pane
  7.  

  8. Click the Find Previous arrow to locate the previous instance of your search term

  9. Click the Find Next arrow to locate the nextinstance of your search term

     

    To stop the search at any time, press Escape

    Press the X button to clear the Find field

     

To use Advanced Search:

  1. In the sidebar, click the Advanced Search button to toggle the pane

  2. In the Search for: field, enter the keyword or phrase you want to find

  3. If required, toggle any of the following search filters:

    • Whole words only: ignore any search results that aren’t whole words
    • Case sensitive: ignore any results that do not match the case of the search query
  4. Press the Enter key or click Search to begin searching to document

  5. Enter a new search query to start a new search and clear the list of results
